We keep having it online for everyone to see our very first big and most important failures, duniainlineskate.com. It now is a community site, providing information regarding the roller sports community in Indonesia.

THE STORY

Dunia Inline Skate was a skate park that had a concave banked track, a skate shop and skate school. It was the first of its kind in Jakarta where a commercial skate park was built to accommodate inline skaters.

The skate track attracted all sorts of people with wheels. It attracted:

1. Inline skaters

2. Roller skaters

3. Long boarders

4. Skate boarders

5. Balance bikers

6. Scooter enthusiasts

7. Senior walking enthusiasts

Whole families going for a walk around a banked track, multiple generations having a safe space to move together was a sight to see. We had our first version of a skate school when we built this track and it was the best learning experience in how to facilitate the public into taking up inline skating.

A flat, safe and confined space to roll was a great facility to provide a communal wheel experience that included all members of the family regardless of the generation. It was an awesome time to watch families have fun together.

This concept should have the opportunity to live another day. It should be considered as a viable possibility when building. That is why PT AMI is offering the blue print and presentation to be downloaded. The design blue print and initial business plan is now available for download here where you can use the blue prints build your own version of a banked track and use it.

The purpose of this build can accommodate urban apartment areas, housing complexes and residential parks. The fact that more than one group of sports enthusiasts, particularly casual and introductory users.

WHO IT COULD SERVED

We think that banked tracks are primarily reserved for inline speed skaters where in reality large groups of other enthusiasts can use them too. Think about it, other communities that can use banked tracks are the following:

1. RC race (nascar, GT or buggy)

2. Wheel chair communities

3. Battery powered scooters and one wheels

4. Drift carts

5. Drone racing

The middle part of the track can also be used for other activities such as:

1. Other roller sports such as hockey (roller and inline), slalom, slide, roller derby and  rollerball can use this facility

2. Futsal

3. Pickleball

4. Handball

5. Floorball

WHY YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD THE BLUEPRINTS

This multifunction activity area is a great alternative to traditional skate parks and green areas. As investments in community based sports in urban areas we see a fantastic opportunity to revive this skate concept.

If you are interested to build your own skate community hub, this about the possibilities you are able facilitate with this facility. The physical structure is one aspect, the other part is the software needed to manage this facility.

PT AMI has built the supporting ecosystems needed to make a DIS successful. Skate School, Skate Brand and tech support.

We even have the data what worked and what didn't over the 7 years of operation. The reason we are providing the plans for download is becuase we believe that this concept, regardless of where you are, should be explored. As investments in sports facilities like padelcourts, gyms and pilates studios are being used to raise the value of a community, child friendly places are but forgotten.
